dhyan.... just a philosophy.... or does it really help in practical life?

மஹான்கள் சொல்வது
தத்துவங்கள்,
யதார்த்த வாழ்வுக்கு
சாத்தியமா,
பயன் ஏதும் உண்டா?
Questions like these
May ransack the mind.
The rationale minds always
Seek validity -
A scientific one at that.
Now
It's not uncommon 
That your physician 
Advising,
"Try meditation".
And always the proof 
Of the pudding is
In eating.
Try doing dhyan,
At the start even for 
A fraction of a minute.
Gradually scale up.
And on day 3,
You will see 
Your cortisol -
The stress hormone
decreasing.
And you find 
Experiencing a 
Sense of calm
And
Inner PEACE.
Wow,
That is the
BLISS,
AWARENESS,
PURE SELF
That Saints refer to.
